The Puncturevine (Tribulus terrestris) is an interesting herbaceous plant native to Asia, which grows rarely also in this country. It boosts our sexual functions and libido, which will be appreciated especially by men. This species inhabits steppes, sandy soils, ruderal places, is an unpleasant weed on pastures encroaching upon path edges, gardens and fields. Its original areas of distribution extend from India and Indonesia to the Mediterranean and the Middle East. The Puncturevine bears a triangular fruit with sharp spines that are sharp enough to puncture bicycle and lawn mower tires, according to which the plant got its name. The Puncturevine has been described as a “herbal viagra” recently. It is widely used also in the Traditional Chinese Medicine because of its libido stimulating effects.
