This plant is classified as an invasive weed, and it is used in folk herbalism for its beneficial effects. Although it comes from Central America, it can be found in several places in the Czech Republic. It likes to grow in moist fields and poorly drained meadows, but it can also be found in ditches by roads and near human settlements.
