Magnesium

Magnesium is one of the essential trace elements being a part of approximately 300 processes in our body. Magnesium is important for our muscles, including the cardiac muscle tissue, by making a major contribution to their proper functioning. It is also a significant health promoter helping to relieve fatigue and exhaustion, to maintain a normal function of the nervous system and thus to keep our mental health intact in general. Fruits (e.g. bananas and dates), vegetables (spinach, peas), fish meat (pike perch, tuna) and nuts (almonds) are well-known sources of magnesium. A calcified sea alga of the genus Lithothamnion, which occurs in the clean ocean waters along the coasts of Island and Northern Ireland, is a less known source of it.
